A Feckless Quest for the Basketball Gene
April 8, 2000
This Article is about how Jonathon Marks finds out if there is a gene that makes you good at basketball. Also if there is different genes just for african american people or for white people. Also about a book that talks about why African Americans dominate sports. By collecting genetic data they try to see if there is a gene. But they come to the conclusion that there are just too many people to take apart from this study. The way to get good at basketball isn’t to be a different race it’s to practice.
This study will affect people by seeing if you can be good by just being born or by working hard. Some of the key points of this article are that there is a book called Why Black Athletes Dominate Sports and Why We're Afraid to Talk About It, that raises the questions for this Study.
